Reseller Risk Report

Spot slow movers before they choke cashflow, identify sizes that stagnate, and decide what to liquidate fast. Use these signals weekly to keep inventory liquid.

Weekly risk review

Scan these patterns every week before buying new inventory or renewing consignment windows. If multiple signals stack, move to liquidation options quickly.

Slow movers

Liquidity is thin

  • Wide bid-ask spread and low daily sales volume across marketplaces.
  • High inventory counts at major platforms; pages show lots of asks with few bids.
  • Pairs sit >30 days in-store without serious offers.
  • Story or collab fatigue; no upcoming events to spark demand.

Pairs trending down

Price curve is slipping

  • 30/60/90-day moving average drops; recent sales undercut prior floor.
  • Restock rumors or confirmed restocks pushing bids lower.
  • Influencer/seasonal hype fading; search volume and social mentions slide.
  • Grade-school or women's sizing sees faster erosion after initial hype.

Sizes that stagnate

Uneven size demand

  • Extreme size skew: very small or very large sizes move slower unless they're the only pairs listed.
  • High asks with almost no bids on specific sizes; days-on-market far above core sizes.
  • GS/W sizing without crossover appeal tends to cool off faster post-release.
  • Half sizes can stall if full sizes are plentiful at lower prices.

Liquidate fast

Exit before losses deepen

  • Pairs approaching yellowing/discoloration risk (white uppers, icy soles).
  • Deadstock pairs without original extras (missing laces/box) that will keep getting undercut.
  • SKUs with upcoming retros or alternate colorways that will reset the floor.
  • Inventory tying up cash for >60 days with declining bids—move to bulk buyout or aggressive pricing.

How to act

Price

Tighten asks to the spread and set timed price drops.

Channels

Test secondary channels: bulk buyout, local cash, or consignment with shorter windows.
